We’re proud to announce the first-ever winner of our Quarterly Scorecard Program – a new initiative that recognizes outstanding performance by our Construction Managers and their teams.

Big congratulations to our Dawson Creek division! As the newest addition to the Arnett & Burgess family, Dawson Creek has quickly proven themselves through outstanding performance across all key performance areas of the program. Their leadership and teamwork have set the bar high!

To kick off the celebration, the team was awarded our WWF-inspired “World’s Best Construction Manager” belt – a symbol of performance that they can wear or display with pride! As part of program’s recognition, the winning team also receives $2,000.00. The Dawson Creek division has chosen to donate this amount in full to a local cause that reflects our shared values and reinforces our commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work.

This program isn’t just about numbers — it’s about the leadership, teamwork, and meaningful contributions behind them. Congratulations again to our Dawson Creek division!

As part of our Quarterly People Focus, we’re proud to recognize one of our Superintendents, Tyler Williams, who recently graduated as a Quanta Services Elite Foreman. He brings leadership, humility, and a strong commitment to his crew every day. Here’s what he had to say about his role, what drives him, and what the recognition means to him.

What is your role at A&B and what does a typical day look like for you?

I’m a Pipeline Superintendent at A&B Energy Services. A typical day for me involves organizing my crew and team members in the field, ensuring that they are set up to execute successful projects for our clients, and providing solutions to potential challenges we may face.

What drives you to do your best work?

I’m driven by seeing the people around me and how much they care about what they do, it elevates me to be better. I get up in the morning because of the good people I work with.

Congratulations on being recognized as a Quanta Services Elite Foreman and your recent graduation from the program! What does this recognition mean to you?

Initially, I didn’t really know what the program was about, though it was cool and appreciated to be recognized. After traveling to Houston to meet the other foremen selected for this recognition and learn more, I better understood what the program represents and stands for. It was very cool to have 43 people, out of Quanta’s 50,000+ employees, from all over the world in the same room. I found it very humbling; the level of people in the program was an incredible experience. I do have to say though that it’s my guys that make me look good; they are the ones putting in the hard work.

Advice for others looking to grow?

In my experience, everything starts from the bottom; it’s not top-down, it’s bottom-up, you must listen to your people, treat them with kindness and respect; guide and teach people.

As part of the Quanta Elite program, I learned the importance of picking your replacement and finding that perfect person that will take your job. I want everyone who works with me to have my job tomorrow and be successful, I will give them whatever tools I can to accomplish that. We need to get the younger generation excited and want the job, and to develop them into good leaders.

What do you do to unwind?

I like to travel, especially to warm destinations. I like sitting on the beach!

Check out Tyler’s work in action and join us in congratulating him on this accomplishment. Learn more about the Quanta Elite program.

February is #HeartandStrokeMonth, a time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health.

While we encourage healthy living, we also recognize the importance of being prepared for emergencies. We have AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) deployed across our offices and job sites, ensuring that life-saving equipment is readily available when needed. Let’s use this month as a reminder to prioritize heart health by focusing on prevention as well as preparedness.

Pipeline construction during the winter in Western Canada is not for the faint of heart. Our crews have been navigating freezing temperatures and long days to safely bring projects closer to completion. Their commitment, resilience, and teamwork deserved to be recognized, and we recently had the opportunity to do just that by hosting a crew appreciation BBQ for our team working on the installation of 9km of NPS 20 in Central Alberta.

A huge thank you to everyone at our project sites for your commitment to getting the job done safely and of the highest quality. We are so proud of this strong team!

During the month of December, our Dawson Creek team, along with vendors Mile “0” Electric Ltd., Canvac Oilfield Services, Pro-Well Contracting Ltd., Element Disposal, Jaxxtin Oilfield Contracting Ltd., and NorthStar Oilfield Services Ltd. came together to raise funds in support of Networks Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the community of Dawson Creek.

In total, $2,600.00 was raised, and Norma Pyle of Arnett and Burgess Energy Services happily presented cheques to Kerry-Ann Meise of Networks Ministries.
