CHRIS WHITFIELD
Vice-President, HSE & Compliance
“What I’m most proud of in this role at A&B is being given the opportunity to mentor a great team, with the goal of putting them in a position for success and helping each team member become their best.”
Leading a team and supporting his colleagues comes naturally to Chris. After all, the first seven years of his career were spent as a first responder, looking out for others as a volunteer firefighter in the County of Wheatland and then as a Provincial Constable in Central and Southern Alberta. Chris then went on to a position as a Police Officer for the City of Victoria and in 2005, Chris elected to transfer into the energy industry. He first worked as a labourer with Big Country Energy Services and worked his way up the ladder there before being recruited to A&B in 2012.
Chris brings a wealth of professional experience to the company, having held four roles within A&B prior to being appointed VP, HSE & Compliance in May 2023. Day to day, his work involves monitoring the systems and processes A&B has in place to ensure the needs of the company’s internal operations and field operations are met. Chris has been part of the A&B team for 12 years now and sees himself as a team player and coach, providing leadership and mentorship to his department leads.
Outside of work, Chris is a Bentley Rodeo Association volunteer and likes to unwind by spending time with his family, boating and travelling with his wife Tina.
